NSE seminar on futures, derivatives

CHENNAI: The National Stock Exchange of India (NSE) would conduct a one-day seminar, on ‘Equity, Futures and Currency Derivatives’ for the faculty members of various management colleges and institutions on March 17. The seminar would be organised in association with the Saveetha School of Management at the Saveetha University Campus at Velappanchavadi on the city outskirts. The one-day programme would provide an opportunity for faculty members handling fi nance, investments, capital markets in colleges and management institutions to keep themselves abreast of the current practices in equity, futures, and currency derivatives trading. The programme would offer insights into the working of equity and derivatives segments of the stock exchanges like introduction to fi nance market, capital market, clearing and settlement in capital market, and derivatives market including derivative -- futures, derivative -- option and currency derivatives. The seminar would be conducted by NSE Assistant Manager C S Naveen, a Saveetha University release said here. University Chancellor N M Veeraiyan said the stock trading concepts and techniques have undergone rapid changes in the recent years. ‘Being a leading stock exchange, NSE is playing a catalytic role in reforming the Indian securities market in terms of market practices and trading volumes,’ he added. A faculty development programme conducted by resource persons from NSE would help teachers understand the basic and advanced principles of equity, futures, and currency derivatives in India, he said.
