TTD to hold summer camps in scripture training

TIRUMALA: Tirumala- Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) has decided to conduct three-week summer camps for students who completed inter to train them in spiritual scriptures like Ramayana and Mahabharata, TTD Executive Offi cer L V Subramanyam said here. Participating in the monthly ‘Dial Your EO’ programme here, he said, ‘We have also decided to distribute three lakhs books of ‘Shataka Padyalu’which will be useful for the students. “I appeal to the teachers present across the state to come forward to extend support to TTD in teaching the values embedded in Telugu literature for the students,” he added. Answering another call, he said TTD had already decided to provide free breakfast and meals even at ‘Galigopuram’ for the benefi t of pilgrims coming on foot. “This will come in to effect in a couple of weeks,” he said. He said the TTD was planning to perform Sri Govinda Raja Brahmotsavams in Tirupati in a grand manner in May. The TTD has decided to perform 150 Srinivasa Kalyanams in a year and a cluster of celestial marriages have been planned in the US which will take place between April 28 till June two. He said there were proposals to conduct similar events in in Mauritius, Canada, Japan, Singapore and Sri Lanka. TTD will construct Sri Venkateswara and Goddess Padmavathi Temple at near Vivekananda Rock Memorial in Kanniyakumar District at a cost of Rs 22 crore.
