Will speak in different way, if false cases foisted against me: Vijayakanth

VIRUDHUNAGAR: Alleging that he was evicted from the assembly for speaking people’s issues, Leader of the Opposition in Tamil Nadu Assembly and DMDK Founder Vijayakanth on Sunday said he would speak in different way, if false cases were foisted against him. Addressing a function of party functionary at Aruppukottai here, Vijayakanth ‘’said everybody knows what happened in the assembly. I have been suspended for speaking people’s issues. Wecannot keep mum, when they (ruling party legislators) behave in an unruly way. Any person could get angry and we know the culture.’’ On Chief Minister Jayalalithaa’s challenge to the DMDK to face the AIADMK in the Sankarankoil assembly by-election, he said the election fear had gripped the ruling party. ‘’You have constituted 26 ministers among a 34-member-panel for election related work,’’ he said and wondered why the ruling party had failed to constitute such a panel for taking up relief operations in cyclone “Thane” affected parts. ‘’They (ruling party) were distributing free mixer, grinders to the people of Sankarankoil. Whatever they like they can distribute, but the question is that whether the mixer, grinders could run in erratic power supply,’’ he asked. He said people’s expectations for a better situation after the change of power had not been met with. It may be recalled that Vijayakanth and his party legislators were evicted enmasse from Tamil Nadu Assembly and the actor-turnedpolitician was suspended for ten days for his alleged rude behaviour in the fl oor of the assembly during an argument with Chief Minister.
