Richest in world live with poorest in India: Karat

T H I R U V A N A N - THAPURAM: CPI (M) General Secretary Prakash Karat alleged that most rich people in the world are living together with the poorest lot, in India. Inaugurating the concluding session of the 20th Party State Conference here this evening, Mr Karat said the common people in the country are suffering from neoliberal economic policies of the ‘minority UPA Government at the Centre.’ Alleging that the UPA is inviting capitalist forces like Wall Mart to the country in core sectors like retail trade, he said it has no majority as it depends on other parties. The UPA was putting blame on its allies including DMK when major scams took place, showing their inability to check corruptions, leading to total paralysis of the UPA at the Centre, he alleged Working class in the world is subjected to a threat to their livelihood due to imperialistic economic policies, he said.
