400 students write letter to God

CHANDIGARH: In a unique gesture to enunciate their sense of belongingness for God, about 400 students of various schools and colleges began a three-day enterprise to write a 250-feet long ‘’letter to God’’ here on Friday. The initiative was taken by the Brahma Kumaris Centre, Sector 15, Chandigarh to mark the celebration of Shivratri festival, birthday of Lord Shiva. Stating this here, Brahma Kumari Sister Anita, Centre in-charge of Sector 15 Centre, said that many schools, colleges and institutions from around the city were invited to express the ‘’heartiest and unexplored love for God.’’ The various organisations to participate in the event comprised DAV School, Sector 15; Government College for Girls, sector 11; Government Model School, sector 10 and Navodaya School. Prominent dignitaries who participated in the event included Satish Kainth, Deputy Mayor, S. K. Sharma, Additional Director General Police; Saurabh Joshi, Municipal Councillor and Anu Chatrath, Ex-mayor of Chandigarh. Speaking on the occasion, Sister Anita said, ‘’God’s love is present in every individual but if one attempts to express his love for Him, it increases and plays a dominant role in life. This event has been organised to give a chance to individuals to enunciate their sense of belongingness for God.’’ She said that a similar event would be organised at Sukhna Lake for the tourists on February 13.
