Over 70,000 vie for Veena’s hand on ‘Swayamwar’

NEW DELHI: Over 70000 suitors from the across the globe, including countries like the US, UK, Poland, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, New Zealand, Nepal and Pakistan, have expressed their desire to marry Pakistani actress Veena Malik on the season four of the ‘Swayamwar’ on Imagine Television channel. The fourth season of one of reality show ‘Swayamvar’ on Imagine TV, has received an overwhelming response with 71,240 prospects having expressed their desire to marry Veena Malik on ‘Veena Ka Vivaah’ - ‘Swayamvar Season 4’, offi cials at Imagine TV said. While the entries include prospective grooms across the globe, majority of the entries have come in from India. According to Vivek Bahl, Chief Content Offi cer, Turner International India Pvt Ltd, ‘putting the viewers fi rst, we teamed with Veena Malik for Swayamvar this season, to go look out for her ideal match. And the response that the she has got with her spirited nature eliciting thousands of proposals from bachelors all across India, as well as abroad, is excellent, to say the least. We hope that she fi nds her ideal match through this Swayamvar.’ On her part, Veena, who will now chose, from among the entries received, the 16 who will appear in the ‘Swayamwar Season 4’ on Imagine, is delighted at the response. ‘I am humbled by the response I have received and am thrilled that majority of the entries have come in from India. I want to thank everybody for their continuous love, support and faith in me and I hope they will hold my hand in the most important journey of my life,’ Veena said.
