Baharin Air to increase Indian operation: CEO

T H I R U V A N A N - THAPURAM: ‘Baharin Air is positive for the future and traffi c rights permitting it will increase fl ights to India as the company takes more aircraft from next year,’ according to Bahrain Air CEO Richard Nuttall. In a press release here on Tuesday, Nuttall said Baharin Air has reinforced its commitment to India, especially the South by announcing four fl ights a week to Thiruvananthapuram, with plans to increase to seven fl ights a week by the summer. “With the historic milestone of seven fl ights a week to Thiruvananthapuram, the State of Kerala will constitute 80 percent of Bahrain Air India’s capacity, with 17 fl ights a week across Kochi, Kozhikode and Thiruvananthapuram,” he said. “Flights will depart from Bahrain at 0925 hrs and arrive early morning in Thiruvananthapuram International airport at 0415 hrs. The return fl ight will depart Thiruvananthapuram at 0500 hrs and arrive at Bahrain International Airport at 0730 hrs. Flights have been scheduled for onward connection to other Gulf and Levant destinations,” he said. He said, “The India Sub Continent remains a key focus area for Bahrain Air and Kerala continues to be a focal destination for us. Currently there are about 350,000 Keralites in Bahrain and another 400,000 in the Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia.” “We are now operating four fl ights a week and will be increasing the frequency to seven fl ights a week to Thiruvananthapuram by this summer, a total of 17 fl ights a week to Kerala. This once again reiterates our commitment to develop Bahrain Air as a as a regional carrier within the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), Indian Subcontinent and Levant regions,” he added. Bahrain Air operates to more than 15 destinations from Bahrain, with an average frequency of 160 fl ights a week, the CEO said.
